What is EMDR?
EMDR Therapy helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. Originally observed by Dr. Francine Shapiro during a walk, EMDR uses gentle bilateral stimulation through eye movements, sounds, or taps to support the brain’s natural healing process.
This approach engages both emotional and cognitive systems at the same time, allowing you to revisit difficult experiences without becoming flooded. EMDR is not hypnosis, and you remain fully present and in control as your brain forms new and adaptive connections.
